Queenstown Hill House

Professional interior design consultancy was required for this Queenstown Hill property, with its absorbing views across the lake to the Remarkables Range, Walter Peak and beyond. Our overseas based client, engaged Milne Reddell to deliver a renovation that would add value and luxury to the existing home.

Accents of repeated subtle colour were adopted throughout the house, providing contrast to the white walls and light oak flooring. The smaller apartment sized spaces required us to custom design several furniture pieces, including the upholstered modular sofa. The oak dining table and oak and leather bench seat are bespoke designs by Milne Reddell, made in Queenstown by local craftspeople. The master bedroom required cohesiveness in its design direction, which led to creating a custom designed bedhead, upholstered in a textural wool fabric, framed in solid oak and lit with beautiful simple black wall lights. This stunning yet simple design feature anchors the bed to the space, creating a modern sanctuary where the owners can rest and enjoy the uninterrupted view.

Art, lighting, bed linen and accessories were carefully curated, adding layers of interest while maintaining a strong sense of harmony to the home and the landscape it sits within. We are currently designing a new kitchen and selecting finishes, which will bring all aspects of the interior design elements together to complete this project.
