This spacious family home, situated in the alpine estate of Bendemeer, Arrowtown, enjoys unparalleled mountain views. With such a stunning rural setting, Milne Reddell's design inspiration came from the natural tones and colours of the landscape beyond. The inherent beauty of the material selection, alongside a recessive nature, allowed subtle contrast to elevate the overall design. The kitchen and scullery were designed to specifically meet our client's requirements and combined warm, subdued honed marble bench tops with natural and black stained oak veneer joinery to provide an overall softness to the design. The seamless waterfall bench ends, handless pulls and thoughtful details brought a modern, clean edge to these traditional materials.

It was paramount to Milne Reddell that the home's interior would offer aesthetic and functional longevity, leading to a sustainable practice while still adhering to our client's design wishes. We consulted on all aspects of the interior design, from the luxury finish selections (wool carpet, linen curtains, mosaic tiles, oak veneer, marble, and oak timber flooring), to the kitchen and scullery design and lighting selection. Working alongside local craftspeople, we designed custom bedheads and window seating to enhance the home's unique outlook. This helped create life within the home to feel closer to nature by keeping the material palette to a minimum, resulting in a stunning luxury home grounded within its natural environment.
